Amsoil Magazine - September 2022
This month’s magazine on page 4 has a tech talk from Senior Product Development Engineer Mike Nelson about turbochargers and their effect on powersports equipment. Turbochargers have been increasingly used in the automotive technology of a majority of OEMs, and really starting to show up more in powersports equipment. While there are several benefits to this technology, they can also increase heat which causes the oil to breakdown sooner and lead to wear. This is why it is critical for AMSOIL to formulate products to stand up to the breakdown to keep engines running at top performance. In the dyno, UTV testing was done recently to ensure our products can handle the torture that we put the vehicles through. Watch the highlights here: 195-hp Turbocharged UTV Torture Test - YouTube.
While we are on the topic of UTVs and ATV, pages 6-7 has an article on the new products, a 10W-30 and 5W-40, available soon, made to deliver upgraded protection for ATVs and UTVs. We are excited for these new viscosities to join our lineup of extensive ATV/UTV products. Check your inbox from an announcement from me soon when these products are ready to order!
Pages 7-8 has an article on the AMSOIL Coolant lineup. Coolant in general is very critical to your application operating effectively in any climate but particularly in those of extreme heat or cold. 40% of engine problems are due to motorists neglecting to maintain their coolant, particularly if they are using inexpensive conventional “green” coolants found everywhere. AMSOIL has three options of coolant perfect for those who are looking for a mixed fleet or heavy duty option, a regular passenger car option, and of course a low-toxicity biodegradable option.
